Early Modern Eagle
Measures 11.8mm tall. Inspired by an image in Figure 5.23 of English Bookbinding Styles: 1450-1800 by David Pearson.
Set in a hand-turned hardwood handle with a slight taper. Measures 13.5cm x 3cm (at its thickest).
Used to build designs on primarily leather surfaces. From the hand-filed tapered shank stock to the engraved details of the design, each and every tool is completely made by hand by Brien. The shanks are set in hand-turned tapered wooden handles for comfortable grip, and the face of each tool is slightly domed to ensure a crisp impression. As each tool is individually made, please allow for a small degree of variation.
