Measures 7.7mm tall. While most bookbinder’s finishing tools these days are made from brass, this acorn was cut from cast bronze, the traditional favorite of bookbinders.

Set in a hand-turned hardwood handle with a slight taper. Measures 13.5cm x 3cm (at its thickest).

Used to build designs on primarily leather surfaces. From the cast bronze shank stock to the engraved details of the design, each and every tool is completely made by hand by Brien. The shanks are set in hand-turned tapered wooden handles for comfortable grip, and the face of each tool is slightly domed to ensure a crisp impression. As each tool is individually made, please allow for a small degree of variation.
